// Church technology · AI sermon-preparation platform

An AI platform that drafts sermons in the pastor's voice and turns each one into social clips.

A sermon-preparation platform needed its Claude-powered drafting product finished and able to take payment, then extended to turn every recorded sermon into short vertical clips.

// The challenge

What stood in the way

The platform learns each pastor's voice, style and theology from one of their recorded sermons, then drafts future sermons from their notes or outline. Its original developer had moved on with the product part-built.

The drafting flow and the prompts behind it needed rework, sign-in needed email support, and there was no way to take payment.

Churches also wanted their sermons on social media, but cutting a long recording into short vertical clips took hours of manual editing every week.

// The solution

How we solved it

We took over the codebase and reworked the user flow and the Claude prompts, so each draft arrives with its changes annotated, alongside a teaser email and a reflection guide, all in the pastor's voice.

We added email sign-in and Stripe subscriptions, and built a landing page where church members can gift a subscription to their pastor.

We then built a clipping pipeline. From a YouTube link it fetches the video and transcript, transcribing the audio itself when no captions exist. Claude picks the most compelling passages of 30 to 60 seconds, and speaker tracking reframes each one to 9:16 with captions timed to every word.

Each clipping request runs as its own job on Google Cloud Run, so one long sermon never holds up anyone else, and finished clips arrive by link and by email. We ran the whole platform day to day for more than a year.
